Snap. Catch. Slam is an exciting new piece by an award winning writer. It consists of three short plays inspired by real life events. The stories are devastating accounts of a minute in one day that changed everything. Through intimate, raw story-telling, the characters reveal how one moment of action, or inaction, can dramatically change our lives or the lives of others forever. In a sense, we are all victims or heroes of our own impulses.

Something snaps. I think catch, catch it. The door slams.

Three exciting short plays by award-winning writer, Emma Jowett (co-writer of Analogue's Beachy Head and Mile End).

Inspired by real life events, the stories are devastating accounts of how a minute in one day can change our lives forever; how one split second of action, or inaction, can make us the victim or hero of our impulses.

This is intimate, raw story-telling that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Alice Jones, Independent

"…This is an hour of intense of storytelling which builds to a devastating emotional climax."

Metro - 4 stars

"…For Caplan and Jowett, this harrowing hour is a triumph."

Exeunt – 4 stars

"…impressive performances throughout and captivating writing… it’s consistently exciting and engaging and the production benefits from its simple direct-to-the-audience style of performance, which allows the production to live up to its percussive title."

Three Weeks review – 5 stars

"…The cast of five tell a story, each one circling around one of the verbs in the title, each shocking and utterly compelling, so that even with the minimalist set, one becomes immersed in the world of the storyteller. This is due to the fantastic writing, which builds to a point of pure human emotion in each story: several times I found myself on the edge of my seat as the events of each tale unfolded before my eyes. I only wish the title had more verbs so that I could have watched it for longer."

The Public Reviews, Melissa Rynn – 5 stars

"..absolutely captivating and emotionally compelling…."

" the very strength of the writing and intensity of performances makes this piece vital and satisfying viewing."

Fest Magazine

"The show benefits from its ballsy, pared back, direct-to-the-audience style which, with a little light to occasionally illuminate the dark, might just unleash the full force residing in this fizzing little firecracker lurking beneath the Pleasance Courtyard."
